Any RUMORS of new Korg arranger (Pa5X?) in the near future?

Hi

I totally agree about humanisation options.

But I think Korg should develop more stuff for pa4x too:
- more style packs (particularly songstyles)
- more sounds packs
- editing software

If we could buy high quality stuffs to enhance this actual PA4x I am not sure most of people would need a PA5x. And it would cost less money ...

Sure We can make them from PA4x but it's very time consuming a require high skills level

Obviously it's probably not the best business model for Korg ...

Just heard the PA series is over. That’s the last of it. The 4x is the last of the PA series. This doesn’t mean there won’t be a new arranger coming out. Just means the PA series is over and a new series is coming our way.

I’m hoping it comes out at musikmesse 2020 in April.

Hi Niki,
Nobody here is doubting what you say, but when you make a statement like that on a forum for Korg PA Arranger owners then you really do need to back it up with a link to the Facebook posts.
Members on here are quite passionate about their arrangers.

It actually makes sense for them to drop the PA series and move into the next generation of arrangers. It’s been 20 years with this series. 20! As you all know the most Korg has waited to drop a totl arranger is 4 years. Which should of came out last year. Maybe this is the reason they’re waiting to release it this year. Start of a new era for Korg. Can’t wait!

Yamaha tried but only changed the name.

Bring out a new arranger to do what - there will be thousands of instant complaints if the new arranger wasn't fully compatible with and similar to the current one.

Korg marketing dept have a difficult task with the PA series and workstations (like Kronos) - where do they go from here short of merging the two and having a built-in heavy duty sequencer like Cubase plus sampling software equivalent to a current PC product... oh and plus a 27" touch screen etc...etc...

Even if they added all of the wish list items it will still be an upgraded PA4X.

I would not like to be making those decisions for sure.

In the meantime we can just sit back and have fun with all the rumours.....

...but it would now be nice to get some idea of where, when and if anything is in the air?????

I agree it is a natural evolution of the Korg Arranger. I would align the release with a new Kronos replacement. They seem to work in tandem using the same sound engine components. I would think the User Interface, screen, and connectivity components will be somewhat interchangable. I would think Korg would still keep the ergonomics the same with the same deep editing functions and real-time controls.

I wonder if the keyboard on the floor on the left in the photo covered over with the brushed metal side cheeks behind the scenes at Namm this year has anything to do with this subject?... Are we getting a weighted key version included this time?? or could it be a merger of Kronos and PA hybrid I keep picking up on in and around the internet???... So much speculation.... +1 for humanization of Styles. I've bought many arrangers over the years but mostly for the built-in speakers. The Styles always had a robotic feel to them and I never used them.

But now, with the Pa1000 I am learning to use Styles. It feels like, for the most part, they were played by studio musicians, top notch stuff really. And the quality of Sounds make them come to life.

But still... they can't get away from the fact that they're repeating a musical phrase over and again. Even if it wasn't mistakes that were introduced as a change within a Style, having greater variations of particularly the Drums (esp the kick), and Bass part, would go a loooooong way. When I hear the endlessly repeating kick and bass parts, it's a dead giveaway that an arranger is playing.

So maybe the humanization of it would be that the phrases themselves are longer, with some degree of volume and expression, would help.

I think Ketron (Audya) was successful with "humanised/live sounding styles") about a thousand years ago - it was ahead of its time really - superb arranger but with many initial problems that took too long to fix (for me). At least Korg introduced the style CVs since its very first arranger (i2) - this makes the styles far more realistic than its competitors. Was hoping that the Genos might have had similar technology but no! - it seems to focus on amazing intros and endings but with reasonably gutless repetitive variations.
