Krome EX

Post by glisando »

Hi Folks,

I am thinking of getting the Krome Ex 61 this week. Is there anything I should look out for when buying this synth or any other advice/tips? Please do share. Thank you.

Hi all,

I downloaded the Krome EX user manuals and was just going thru one of them (KROME_EX_Supplement_EFGSCJ1.pdf) when I came across the following line in page 7 (Appendices) that said:

KROME sound editor incompatibility
The KROME Editor/Plug-in Editor cannot be used
with the KROME EX.
Also, an Editor/Plug-in Editor for the KROME EX is
not available.

Is this bad news? What exactly was the KROME Editor/Plug-in Editor supposed to do? I use my KORG-TR with the DAW and the instrument definition file helped my Sonar X2 recognize and select the various Korg patches in prog and combi. One of the the things I heard about the KROME Editor/Plug-in Editor was that I would no longer require instrument definitions as these editors would do the job. Now that the manual says they won't work on Krome EX what would I be missing out on? Is this a game changer in anyway, should I still go out and buy the Krome Ex? Hope someone can shed some light. Thank you.

I can't think of anything particularly bad here. I don't even use the software, and I get lots of use out of my Krome.

Maybe ... it inhibits using it as a sound generator for your DAW? I dunno ...
