Making external MIDI Controller play a different sound ..

Hi there,

I would like to connect an external MIDI controller to my PA3x to use during live performance. The goal is to have Pa3x's built-in keyboard play one sound in "Style" mode while, the external keyboard would play another sound. For example, while a style is running I would play "stings" on PA3x but another "lead" sound would be played on the external controller.

I was able to make external controller play a sound by assigning it's MIDI channel to a one of the "Upper" tracks from a style but the problem is, that the PA3x's keyboard plays the same sound as well. In other words, this setup will make bother keyboards play the same sound, which is not what I am looking for.

Assign external controller midi channel to same as Upper (1-3), mute Upper and in global menu --> MIDI -->> MIDI In Control make disable Track Mute Active .
Then Upper sound will play on mute only from external source.

Track Mute Active
Use this parameter to determine if a muted track can still play
data received on the MIDI IN or USB Device port.
On No data received on the MIDI IN or USB Device
port on a muted track can be played by Pa3X.
Off Data received on the MIDI IN or USB Device
port on a muted track can still play on the Pa3X.
