I did not write yet, but it's possible to write it. Are you willing to wait?

korgpask ... Do you even know what it is you want? Why make this so complicated and confusing? If you have something to share, just share it already! If it's for sale...then sell it, but you gotta make up your mind!

From Tyros 5 to Korg Pax4

Post by ingar »

I am thinking about to replace my Tyros With a New Korg. All my registrations, 700 of them, is it possible to use dem With Korg or do I have to start all over again?

Sorry, i don't know of any way to use them with Korg. They are specifically coded for Yamaha.
On the bright side, sometimes it's good to start with a clean slate so you will be more open to new ideas and arrangements.
Still, 700 Registrations is a LOT of work.
I still have a file with a hundred or so of my Yamaha registrations, but I don't ever expect to use it again, unless for some reason I would need to play someone else's PSR.

I misled you a bit, I have 640 songs in 80 banks. Yes but still a lot of work.
Thank you for answer.

Regarding V.2 upgrade completed this last night, its was late but I had a quick scoot through a few of the new features. It seems some of the screen layouts have changed along with a raft of other things mentioned in the upgrade manual.

Before I get started with this have Korg deleted any sounds and styles that were contained in my Pa4x while it was running Ver 1.2.1 ? in favour of new sounds and styles ?

Thanks

I haven't found any changes as yet - you could compare the lists in the 2 manuals perhaps

Thanks Pete :) With the hours I was keeping I wanted to avoid a cross reference with Paperwork so thought I would just field the question as 9/10 someone already has the answer ;)

I will of course be checking over the coming days.

The upgrade went smoothly although when I copied over the contents of my Pa4x hardrive for some odd reason one of my important gig song folders was not transfered, Lucky I have a backup ;)

Now starts the work on getting the instrument back into shape so I know where I am with.

Thanks Pete

Maybe but you can download it and install it yourself anyhow - and it's very straight forward.

Hi Ive downloaded following the instructions and checked against a few You Tube Videos but I still have a query so if anyone can help I would be very grateful.

There are 5 update Files listed, yet in all the videos people only click on the first one, and it takes about 7 minutes to load in. Nobody ever clicks on the remainder, and it doesn't take 40 minutes as stated in the instructions.

My machine says Version 2.0 is loaded, and I see the Kaoss facility (which most videos highlight first) but I am wondering whether I have to go through the process for the other 4 files ?

Any advice greatly appreciated, Ive searched but found no discussion of this.

Hi,

if you´ve got the kaoss indocated you did all correct !

The "other 4 files" are called automatically from the first one.

Don´t forget to update now to version 2.0.1 ;) ( it´s much faster completed )
