( then the buttons work as a switch );). It´s NO OS Update, it´s built in in every PA4X, but simply not used so far...
New update?

As a former software developer with a masters level degree in computer science, I do not agree. In my experience as the head of advanced software development for a Fortune 250 corporation, software development is NOT much like mathematics in general.chelsea4023 wrote:Hi all,

Sure, software involves logic, which is a small part of mathematics.
But software development is mostly about breaking a large task down into smaller and smaller sub tasks, each of which is small enough to be tested for accuracy under all conditions.
Bad software results from not accounting for all possibilities. Then your software fails when it encounters a situation that the developers did not foresee. Because they did not analyze the task deeply enough, they did not write code to handle the situation.
Reliable software comes from performing an enormous amount of testing during development, and testing completely again after every single change you make to the software program. THAT is very laborious and time consuming, and when it is not done thoroughly, then bugs happen.

They sure have their share of bugs. For decades now. Admittedly, their task is monumental given the complexity of Windows and all the hardware devices it must handle properly.karmathanever wrote:+1

I have to agree. Linux is automating it's self to work the same and ending up with the same problems. Gone is the day when (like DEC and IBM) operating systems were tied to a very limited hardware platform.Minneapolis Musician wrote:

Korg has a very limited hardware platform but a small team and budget.

Why Musikant only???
Why not for all??
I was thinking the same?....i believe this can be used on the PA4X other than the Musikant version but looking on korg's uk site we don't seem to be offered anything similar? are we the poor relation?? On the up side luckily we have been informed on this forum and I have spotted Something that could be of use from this Musikant upgrade as I cover "magic fly" by spaceVex wrote:konio124 wrote:Pa4X MUSIKANT Sound & Style Update 2017 Set

Hi Minneapolis Musician,
I certainly would not disagree with any of the points you made, I only mentioned what my brother had told me when I asked why some software crashed.
He worked freelance at a Bank in the City of London for a few years and was involved in writing software. He obtained a Masters degree in Mathematics at Sussex University. He believes this knowledgehas been extremely useful in his work.
Unfortunately my knowledge in either subject is minimal.
What I do find unusual, and perhaps you could answer this is why people like myself who use the PA4X for relatively basic uses and don't delve too deeply in the menus have never (and I repeat the word 'NEVER') encountered a single problem with the keyboard's software.
I use sounds, styles, pads, etc and play fairly basic (non sequenced) tunes for general enjoyment at home.
As a former software developer with a masters level degree in computer science, I expect you can provide a simple answer to my question.
