I am a bit confused regarding all those Orch.Lib.
Again a new very big one (premium class ?!). I like orchestral sounds and I am owning already the EXS51 Unison Orchestra, which is great.
Which is finally the best and most usable ?
Also I am frustrated since there are so many good sounds which I would like to own - but my Kronos is already full since a long time and also I have to buy those sounds x 3 since I am owning three ! Kronos which I try to keep with same programs/combis/ws.

by asking which is best/usable sounds like you are interested in taking a poll.musicsound wrote:I am a bit confused regarding all those Orch.Lib.

Suggest you set up a poll and see what the votes tell you.
' I am owning three ! Kronos " .. you own 3 Kronos ? thats very cool.
If 95% of your sounds used are from the 3rd party sample libs, I think its too difficult to keep all 3 boards exactly the same.
Consider customize each board for the specific music project you are working on.
are you using GLOBAL/KSC auto load ? Here you can select sample libs you want loaded or not loaded.
In terms of your Kronos being " full ", are you going to DISK/Media info to review the capacity/use of your SSD drives ?
For example, if a SSD drive is 85% full and you are a heavy user of sample libs, you should add/replace a much larger capacity SSD
As you likely now, you can download all the demo versions and try them out..
If you have 3 Kronos's, and you reach their capacity, why not load parts of the libraries on one, and another set on one of the others. Then you can mix as you like..

I am playing the Kronos in two bands and im my home studio. And I just don´t want to move them around. That´s the reason for having three and for my intention to have all of them loaded with the same sounds.
I am creating sounds, combis, etc... at home and just take the USB stick with me.
"Full" means no space for additional samples and programs.
Disk space is not an issue.
But also very difficult when the newer soundsets are created with WS. I need to reprogram all the sounds.
Time for a more powerful Kronos /64bit and more space.
I can´t really manage new sound lib. anymore.

you are busy. About all you can do, is take a step back and simplify.musicsound wrote:I am playing the Kronos in two bands and im my home studio. And I just don´t want to move them around. That´s the reason for having three and for my intention to have all of them loaded with the same sounds.

1)There are possibly many sounds you may not use. Ambient drums might be an example to remove from Preload and have a custom Preload. Other folks may not like the Berlin. Thats resource hungry. Same step , remove it from Preload/ create a custom Preload.
2)There are folks that don't even need the +1000 factory Programs on the Kronos. They simply use the Kronos as a sample playback keyboard.
3) Look at your band material as specific Projects. Create preloads based on just what you need plus the needed Sample Libs
I think you are up against becoming a Data Manager on your Kronos. I understand that many keyboardists don't want to fuss over data management and file management. But the 5 year old Kronos does have limitations that you have to work with.
Its not your friends 32 meg RAM Macbook Pro with a 1 Terrabite SSD.
I would like to see a Kronos replacement sooner than later. But our optimistic guesses for that are in 5 months- 1 year. Or possibly never.
