The Cars " Drive" creating a combi

Post by Magna »

Hi folks, wondered if anybody knows of a drum patch on the Krome that will fit the bill for Drive by The Cars...I'm ok sourcing the pad sounds etc etc but cant seem to nail a suitable drum track...Ive not created a drum track from scratch yet and I'm not sure how these are made and not sure if I could achieve the right sound anyway....any help would be good.

Many Thanks

Creating Drum Patterns

Post by CherryPistolKeys »

Page 65 of the operators guide explains it somewhat. Basically you can program the beat in sequencer mode by either manually entering the pattern or playing (and overdubbing) the parts.

There is a way to save that pattern into an open drum pattern preset slot which you could then use your combi for Drive.

Many thanks again to Dan Stesco for the combi for Drive by The Cars...it's awesome and once again he's come up with the goods...he has said he has a new sound pack out soon featuring the Drive combi....I don't want to steal his thunder but it looks like he will have another quality sound pack for the krome ,so looking forward to the demo.

Cheers again

I have to say, I use many of his sounds in my rig (recently my band started doing "Jump" again, and his sound was much better than the one I had been using, once I remembered it was in the pack I bought from him!), and have been very satisfied.

He also sent me some sounds from his organ pack, namely the Jon Lord patches to check out. Very impressive, and again better than the approximations I have heard on other keyboards.

While I wish I had asked him about the Drive combo, I am willing to wait until he's done with the pack so I can see what else he's come up with.

Lastly, I have some patches I have come up with that are pretty decent; I'll try to pull together a list of them in case anyone is interested.
