which volcas would be good for witch house music?

Post by keallen »

looking to buy some of the Volcas, but would like to know what set up would be ideal for creating witch house music, in the vein of Purity Ring and Crystal Castles

examples:

I feel as if the keys, sample, and bass would work but I'd like some input, especially if one of these would be unnecessary.

Well, genre's aside, you can make an entire track with just the Volca Sample, as it's a... sample player. :P

You'll get more variety and flexibility with all the Volcas however, as you'd then have 2 synths and a sample player, and a drum machine as well if you wanted to get the Beats.
fun = [Beats, Bass, Keys, Sample, FM, Minilogue, Anode, ER-1, ES-1 MK2, JU-06, Keystep, BeatStep Pro, Lemur, Mackie Mix12FX]

Keys is my fav , but I use TB3 for my acid bass- its way better than the Vbass in my opinion.
The sample has rave reviews ,with comments like "every house should have one". I'd go for that over the VBeats for rhythm.

The Witch House sound relies heavily on processed 808 snares and other 808 sounds. Volca Sample is your best bet IMO
The Volca Beats just won't sound right. Maybe the Keys could get you some spooky and detuned lead sounds

I didn't know Witches or Wiccans made house music.
