So what features are you missing on the pa4x?

Style Rec - separate percussion instrument to edit/delete ..
In style/pad record mode each time you can select a single percussive instrument of a drum or percussion track to quantize/delete/transpose/velocityChange its events. To do so use Bottom and Top parameters - selecting same note as the Bottom Note and Top Note parameters you get your single percussive instrument separately within measures limited by Start/end-ticks.eli125 wrote:i wish it will be in style rec mode an option for recording in the drums section the bass drum snare hi hats everything separately so if i don't like the snare i don't have to delete the bass drum and hi hat i just delete the snare and still have the bass drum and hi hats
Worked well in previous Pa-Keyboards - should be the same with Pa4x.
kind regards

When using the Sequencer, making changes in Step Backing Sequence mode re-writes the default MIDI control changes (CC's) for the selected Style, causing user level and patch changes to revert back to their initial states.
Would be nice to have a checkbox setting to disable that feature after making the initial backing sequence.

I'm Trying To Be What I'm
my sound gui complains that whan sending out the bass from aux 1 & 2 it comes in very loud and a verry high gain i would like to have a control on that by assignable sliders oslo wold be nice to have on the assignable sliders a dumper control i should be able to have a dumper without a paddle and the more i move it up the slider the more systane in goes

sorry don't have access to my keyboard at the moment,
I think what he is saying is,
in one of the edit pages in style record mode
there's a section where you can quantise, delete, transpose etc
complete tracks or even individual notes
Just find the section where you can do this, near the bottom of the page it gives a note range, don't know what it is, but just say
c0 to g9
If you want the whole track to be affected ie quants did, deleted whatever,
just leave it set to the default range
BUT
If you only want an individual not affected (just say bass drum is c1)
then you set the note range to
C1 to C1 and only that bass drum note will be affected ie deleted , quantised whatever you 've chosen.
So basically only the notes within the range you choose will be affected.
Brilliant function.
Sorry I don't have access to keyboard or manual just at the moment.
best wishes

This would double the flexibility of the sequencer!!!

Hi Eli
Definately worth exploring.
For my style conversions
I use it for transposing notes.
Also used to use it to change velocity for certain drums in a drum track ie if the bass drums were too loud or too soft , I could just change the velocity for the bass drums in that style.
( since found an easier way with the Drum edit page for changing the volumes of drum types in a mix)

I'm going to repeat one of my previous posts here:
A great omission on the PA4X is the absence of a Piano Roll Editor and a proper Realtime Swing/Shuffle Quantize feature for both sequencers and for style editing.
Even Kronos doesn't have that, which I just don't understand...
Krome and M3 have the Piano Roll and Track View pages.
Don't understand why those are not on the PA4X by now.
Event Edit is not enough! Feels like being back to 01/W days.
In fact the 16-track sequencer on PA4X is pretty much the same as the 01/W's was
It definitely needs an overhaul (both on PA4x and Kronos)!
..Unless I've missed something..
Piano Roll, Track View and a Real-time Swing Quantize would be major upgrades to both PA4X (and Kronos's) creative potential!
