Mine is the Kronos 2.
Trying many ways to record sample from another keyboard but so far unsuccessful.
I can hear the sound of the other keyboard through input 1.
But when I tried to record it, it gave me nothing, no sound. The recording level is always empty and zero, like nothing going in the Kronos but I can hear the sound of the other keyboard through the Kronos.
What am I doing wrong?
I watched the Korg youtube channel and follow exactly like what they did but it did not work for me.
Thanks,
Cannot sample from input 1

Check your bus select and make sure its not off and should be set to L/R for the most basic setup. IFX selectins also allow sound unless you routed things askew in IFX page.
Your record bus could be off or set to the wrong input.
The Bus set up is where those kinds of things are sorted out, because thats where all kinds of routings can take sound in from any of several place and out it any of several places or to a dead end off.
There is auto sampling setup via the drop down menu and gives you quick setup options or initialized neutral setup making all options at "off".
" Record audio input" option is under the Audio sampling setup in the drop down menu bar. That sets it up automatically Audio input 1 and 2 to ram and also the option to change the input through USB or S/P DIF , also ram can be changed to disk destination. Also program assign setup option.
Assuming you are not set to "Use Global settings" , Bus select for the inputs will need to be set up because thats where the sampled sound is routed for output to be heard. The sample sound can come in and even light up/ raise the meters but not be heard. L/R setting will let you hear it through headphones or L/R mains and its possible to have IFX bus setups that let you hear through the L/R or headphone outs. If your bus select is off or at any of 1 through 4, 1/2 and 3/4, you will need to change things around to get sound.
I get sound no matter what bus selection when the sample record button is armed, but it takes L/R or IFX bus to get sound without record armed...

I tried many different setups.
I used the "auto sampling setup." Obviously I had to choose Audio Input 1 and 2.
Everywhere else in the setup, I choose L/R. Still did not work for me. But for the sake of trying, I choose many different combinations.
I'm not sure whether it is an faulty in my Korg but I'm really frustrated right now.

The "Trigger" setting can also disable recording until you have it set to the right mode for what you are doing. Its in Sampling setup.acousticvan@gmail.com wrote:I tried many different setups.

If you are recording external sound via audio input 1/2, a trigger setting of "Note on" won't record anything until you hit a note on the kronos after arming record and starting.
If you have "Trigger" set to "Sampling START SW", it will record as soon as you hit the start button after arming the Sampling rec. button.
I sometimes forget to switch the trigger when i go from sampling my kronos played notes only, to recording external audio only. I haven't tried sampling both kronos notes and external audio at the same time, not even sure if thats possible. Hmmm i will find out...
Besides this, i dont know what else could do it. Maybe it is faulty.
