I agree entirely on all points. I too am a Mac user.
But at the moment any song book editor would be good!!
I too have upgraded from the Pa3x & it has meant a lot of extra work that could have been avoided.
It really is inexcusable that a new instrument is put to market before it is ready with software backup etc.

Good to read, that i'm not alone. The biggest problem of all was the statement on the german homepage, that the current Version from April 2014 is compatible with PA4-X.

I trust them, and after working with 1.5.0 and my new PA4-X i must realize, that this version is not compatible. Songbook-Entries are deleted and some other problems with custom list. Some days work lost, problems with gigs and more... i was frustrated.

After that problems i write to german support on February 2016. No answer, but the compatibility-entry on the homepage was removed after that. Fortunately i have a screenshot  Unfortunately i did not check the international korg website this time.

FYI i am not able to switch back to my good old PA1-X, because it works no longer. This was the reason to buy a new keyboard. And, as said, never ever...

Hi musicman_56
I could not believe that you mean, it is right, that they are not willing within more than a half year to adjust the Songbook Editor.
No I didn't say or mean that...
Maybe I misunderstood you - in which case I apologise - I thought your words:
At least i swore, never ever buy a new Korg Arranger.
...meant just that - my response was really saying that if you have sworn not to buy a new Korg arranger then these issues will not affect you.

That was all I meant... I assumed you had been considering a PA4X and now sworn not to buy a new one.

Apologies for any confusion.

I'm in the same boat... It is so frustrating to shell out $5000 AUD for a brand new top of the line Arranger inly to bring it home and have it sit there so many months because it is unstable to work with! The job is only half done at best, the machine freezes more than the freezer in my kitchen, functions dont work as they are supposed to, we have no support whatsoever with songbook editor and even when it finally does get released, it won't work on MAC... what a waste of my time and money.
I will give it another month or so... then trash this PA4X if no progress is made and after 25 solid years of working on Korg machines I will move to someone like Yamaha who I believe has their act together with there top line products.

No problem, all confusions are gone away now. I should have been more clear about having/using a PA4-X, so this is my fault.

FYI i'm one of the first users in Germany that get a "Korg PA4-X Musikant" on December 2015. It's a special Edition from Korg Germany. Its's a very good Keyboard, but the missing Songbook-Editor makes it useless for me in some parts, and that drives me very crazy

Hi,

As for the SongBook Editor, it's on the way. Unfortunately I cannot give you an estimate time, but it is a short time. I know this is not much, but it's all I can say at the moment.

I have just had a reply to an email I sent to Korg regarding the songbook editor and GOOD NEWS, it should be available for download in the next few days. They have even sent me the instructional manual in advance.

Song Book Editor Release?

Post by kenackr »

As a man who paid for one in advance (as we all do when local purchase is not possible), I never heard about there not being a Song book editor prior to the purchase. The advertising doesn't mention one will have to wait for it, but the song book itself is made a big deal of.

Are there other things like this that anyone else knows about?
O88, T1, Wavestation, M1r, Pa 4X 76, Proteus 1-3, Morpheus, UltraProteus, K1200, Akai S2000, DP8

I've never used the SB editor before even though I've had several Korg arrangers. I think I'll try this one because as upset as everyone has been about it, it MUST be a very worthwhile piece of software.
Thank you Korg. As my banker used to say, better late than never.

Hi akyboy,
What do you mean by "but not International" ?
Is there another international version of Pa4X that is not listed? Isn't the current version International (not the Pa4X Oriental)?
Because in Korg website they mention this:
Software ; Editor for SongBook entries of the Pa-Series products.

Could you elaborate please maybe I am missing some thing.
Thanks.

THIS IS THE INTERNATIONAL VERSION. The part you copied on screen is just saying that the software will ALSO work with the models listed.

Hi tonylawton,
That's what I was thinking.
Thanks.
