Original Korg Kronos upgrade

Post by dtscape »

Hi. Sorry if this is an old topic but I'm now looking to uprade the Ram and add an additional SSD drive to my original Kronos. Can anyone advise me, point me in the right direction, as to how to do this myself (as a pose to paying £219 for Korg to do it).
I'm looking at getting these...

Are they suitable and do I need anything else?
Thank you for any help..
Gig Gear = Korg Kronos 61(down to 1 keyboard at gigs... Its great!!)
Gear at home - Studiologic SL-880(primarily used for Piano feel for Kronos... Nice!!!), Korg Triton Classic 61 (Moss, SCSI, 64ram), Korg 01/Wfd, Roland Juno 6.

I don't know if your planned upgrade choices are suitable....forgive the vague reply.

However,the following may be helpful.

Sharp's video about installing a second ssd has some further details.

(There are others.....found via a google search etc.)

You will also need a longer sata cable.
(Details are in the video).

An example video for ram install...

It is fairly straight forward to do these installations, provided adequate care is taken and electrostatic precautions are observed.

The end result will be very beneficial.

Best Wishes.
