Samsung 850 PRO (500GB!!!) - SSD install success

Post by freznel »

Guys, I chickened out initially on installing a second SSD. So I took out the original one, cloned it using Clonezilla and extended the partition using Gparted.. Works flawlessly. No re-installation needed.

Your links don't work for me but thanks for letting us know.
The Samsung EVO Pro series with VNAND memory are one of the best drives around.

Regards
Sharp.

Hi what about the loading time at boot? Is Kronos loading all libraries faster now?

Faster ssd

If you are looking for a faster ssd on your machine, it won't. It's limitee by the cpu unit. That's what i've been told by Korg staff.

I actually timed it and it loads faster by a mere 43 seconds.

I knew it would, faster read and write speeds. Not all ssd drives are built the same...cpu might have limitations, it is limited by an inferior frive
