New touch screen M50

Post by ddpianoman »

I would love to see a youtube video of someone replacing a digitizer touch screen in a M50. I ordered the screen and got it. I hesitate to put it in and have found a shop to do it for $100 but I'd love to save the money and do it myself. Any videos or pictures of the procedure would be appreciated. Thx!

replaced digitizer, but still it doesn't calibrate

A keyboard tech replaced digitizer, but still it doesn't calibrate. It is like it still has the old one on. Does anybody know what could be wrong? I'm out $150 for the repair and screen but it's still unusable. :(

Have you tried calibrating the touch screen? The facility is located in the Global P0 Basic Setup screen drop down menu, under Touch Screen Calibration. Or is the calibration so far off that you cannot access this utility? What was wrong with the old one that you mentioned? Is the touch function not working? i.e. no beeps when you touch teh screen? If so, the touch controller may be faulty.

touch screen no workie

Post by ddpianoman »

No response at all when I touch the screen after the tech replaced my digitizer. The new screen looks great and the board looks brand new. But I cant get the screen to do anything at all. He's a good tech and has a shop that is very busy so I believe he knew what he was doing. He says its probably the entire touch display needs to be replaced. The screen will not calibrate.
