Me too, Pete. $3800 US translates to $4900 Cdn these days. Axe Music a major retailer in Edmonton doesn't have the Pa4X listed yet, but the Pa3X is still listed at $4500, so the difference is only $400. Not bad at all. I was expecting the Pa4X to be over $5000.

Any idea on price in Oz yet? Brace yourself as usual, I suppose.

Current rates convert USD3800 to AUD5500 - I would be very surprised it f we get it for that - I would estimate it being over $6000 here.
But - who knows - Korg may send me one for free :3drofl:

Strange, why is the T5 $1500 more expensive at Kraft music then the PA4x? Overhere in europe both the PA4x and the Tyros 5 are in the same price range.

i really never could understand these differences...

Never use Yamaha internet prices in europe, make a call for the price you can get.. Yamaha europe does not allow advertising under their advised selling price.. Thats why at first it looks everywhere is just as expensive.

I can have a T5-76 for just under €3500 overhere in Holland, and it comes with expansion memmory and 2 free packs.. On top of that its filled with extra user sounds, styles and songs..

But if Yamaha finds out, the dealer offcourse could loose its dealership, Yamaha is quite agressive with their pollicy. most dealers are happy with it too, as it maximises financial wins..

I think the cost for the 61 version is absolutely ridiculous. They shouldn't be trying to compete with the Tyros prices. More people would buy the PA4x if it didn't cost so much, me included :|

They are not competing, i dare bet that Korg has much more cost then Yamaha, the arranger section of Korg works mostly independant of Korg Japan..

Where Yamaha has a single division creating new things for all their instruments..

Korg also buys stuff from 3rd parties, like the audio mastering and the TC hellicon.. I dont think Korg can afford to sell much cheaper..

On top of that, Korg makes most their arranger money in south east asia, middle east and eastern europe, and less in the western world..wouldnt be surprised if they sold more pa3x worldwide then Yamaha did T5s

Huh?

Pa4X - $4900 Cdn (Converted from $3800 US)
Tyros 5 - $5999 Cdn (Local price at Long & McQuade - national retailer)
