losing volume

Post by mikey224 »

I've seen this problem in the past from other people who have posted this, and now it's happening to me. Sometimes (not always), when I'm playing, the overall volume gets lower. It seems to eventually come back, but it's very strange. Does anyone have suggestions on what the problem is? I've looked for the past posts but I can't find them.
Thanks

Hi Mikey
That's not good my friend - do you get this problem when playing through different sound systems/headphones?
(i.e. have you established that it is definitely the keyboard?)

Is the volume a gradual drop and does it recover?
Do you use an expression pedal for volumes?

I've not had the problem so far so I can't be of much help here - sorry.

Maybe using SMFs with Universal SysEx (MasterVolume F0 7F 7F 04 01 LL MM F7)
kind regards

Thanks for your replies. I have a Bose audio system hooked into the PA3X, and so it may very well be an issue with the Bose. I'll watch it and check that out.
Thanks

Hi there. I had the Bose companion 5 system connected to my pa3xLe and it had an intermittent fault where I was losing volume or no volume at all..Had no problem through headphones. Turned out to be a problem with the Bose control pod.

It happened to me couple of times, couldn't find out why but i found that "Panic" helps. Hold "SHIFT" and press "START/STOP" that is the "PANIC" option that resets the MIDI messages.

not loss of volume ???

i had posted something about this problem a little while ago ...first off , if you plug headphones into the 3x , if there is an internal problem ,it will still do it , which my 3x does.if it doesn't do it in the headphones then its whatever speaker system ur using ... but what i seem to hear ,although it seems like a volume problem ,to me it seems like a tone problem ,high disappear .. but it only does it when your playing the accompaniment .. if you just play piano with nothing else going , it never happens ,no matter how long u play, but it happens a few bars into what your playing once you hit the start ... i use mostly a piano sound along with the accompaniment ,so i notice the diminished highs of the piano instantly ...oh , but it doesn't effect the mic/vocal,at least not on my 3x ...i have a full warranty on my keyboard & most likely will be sending it back & they WILL send me a new one , but I'm just gigging to much right ..please i'd would love feed back on this

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your replies. I'm waiting for it to happen again. I suspect it is a Bose problem. It is so infrequent, however, so I haven't been able to determine the cause ... the headphone suggestion is a good one, and so is hitting the "panic" button, which I'll try. Al Urezzio, good luck on getting your problem resolved with Korg.
Thanks
