Korg SQ-1 USB MIDI not working
Hey all, I'm having a problem with my SQ-1 that came with my MS-20M kit. No matter what I do it just won't show up as a MIDI device in any of my DAWs (Ableton, Reaper, etc). It receives USB power and the driver installs just fine, but it just won't show up. I've tried several different USB cables and ports (all of which work with my other USB MIDI devices, including the MS-20M). I'd really like to solve this problem so I can sync it with my DAW (as master or slave, I don't even care at this point!)
Any ideas?
EDIT: I'm on Windows 7 btw

Deinstall the driver and delete it during the deinstallation.
I don't know, why it works under Windows 7, but after that you will see the SQ-1 in your DAW (after rebooting).
I'm using Cubase 7.5 and the SQ-1 can be synced by MIDI-clock without the driver.
Several time the system asks for installing the driver: Don't do it!
I hope for an update asap.

Ok, here's the response that I got from Korg Product Support and it worked so I'll paste it here in case any one else has this problem:
In the dialog for uninstdrv.exe I actually had no entries for the SQ-1 just something generic like "korg midi device", I deleted all of those AND the ones for the MS-20M just to be safe, cleaned the registry entries, and then plugged it all back in and let the driver do it's thing. Please try the following:
Disconnect the SQ1, then navigate to your main hard drive (usually C:), open the Program Files (x86) folder, then the KORG folder, then the KORG USB-MIDI Driver folder. There you should find UnInstDrv.exe. Please run this, click “Next,” and you should see a list of MIDI entries that can be uninstalled. Check every one of the ones that mentions your SQ1, then click “Next” again. Click “OK” to confirm.
Then, go to the Start menu, type “regedit”, and press Enter.
Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SOFTWARE, then Microsoft, then Windows NT, then Drivers32.
You should see midi1, midi2, midi3, etc. Please delete all these entries.
Next, reconnect the SQ1, and run the “Install KORG USB-MIDI Device” utility to install the SQ1 again.

Phaedra - In the message below, you mention your SQ1 DAW setup which is the same as mine.
I'm trying to use the SQ1 over USB. My problem is that I can get the SQ1 to show up as an input and output, and I can get it to stop/start with Cubase, but no matter what I do, the SQ1 will not trigger either the soft synths in Cubase, or my external synths.
I've tried every combination of settings within Cubase I can think of, but it still refuses to work. It's almost there, and I suspect it's just one Midi setting that is wrong, but if you (or anyone else) can offer any ideas I'd be really grateful.

Following on from earlier mails between myself and Pheadra, re problems synching up an SQ1 to Cubase Artist. There's another post elsewhere on this forum that says the SQ1 won't send MIDI when it's receiving clock. That sounds like the root of the problem I've been having, but no one seems to hav a solution as yet. Any suggestions folks?
Thanks
