I think you connect the microKORG "Ooutput L/MONO" to the "Effect Loop Return" on the Rocktron. Use the "EFX loop" button to select that input.misteryannis wrote:Hi Guys, i bought a rocktron banshee 2 to use with my microkorg xl+ but i don't manage to plug it. Oh thanks a lot John, but this Output L/mono was plugged to my soundcard (L stereo of my Microkorg Output) . Is it possible to plug a Double jack mono 1/4" to simple jack stéréo, one to banshee and other to my soundcard in order to rec in stereo with my soundcard, sorry for my englis, it's difficukt to explain.

I would connect microKORG headphone output to the soundcard with a stereo minijack cable.misteryannis wrote:Oh thanks a lot John, but this Output L/mono was plugged to my soundcard (L stereo of my Microkorg Output) . This frees up the main microKORG output jacks (which are mono) for things like Rocktrons.

Hi,
Input to input will not work... Or is it a typo?
I guess you want the mKXL+ as carrier signal?
Plug XL+ left or right output signal into the input signal of the talk box. Turn up the volume of the XL+. (Do this gradually - you're driving the input of the Banshee with a keyboard, not a guitar!).
Hit the footswitch, turn preamp gain and output gradually up.
Plug the vinyl tube in the box and your mouth, play the XL+.
Have fun.

I applied these settings to an init patch :
Set VoiceAssign to Mono1
Set OSC1 to Formant
Set OSC1Level to 127, and OSC2Level to 0.
Set Portamento to 15.
Set VPatch1 Source to ModWheel, Destination to OSC1 Ctl 1, Intensity to +16
It's not as clear as in the videos !
Is there a way to speak correctly because it seems difficult to say words .

Hi,
If the volume is a bit low, try to increase the volume of the XL+ further. I think you should try to find a balance between XL+ volume and preamp gain. You need a microphone as well to amplify the sound coming from your mouth... Playing chords instead of single notes may thicken the sound as well.
Instead of Formant for Osc1 I would go for the sawtooth. The formant wave form has human voice tonality. That is caused to a large extent by the form of the mouth (oral cavity) which acts like a filter. Now by using a formant and the talkbox, you apply yet another "human filter" on top of it. So therefore I would go for the sawtooth, having a good, better balanced frequency spectrum (more bottom) and let that be filtered by your mouth.
Speaking words will never work well, due to the tube in your mouth. Especially the consonants. Best is to put the tube aside in your mouth, so that you can close your mouth.
Consider also the vocoder in the XL+ as a an alternative for the talkbox. Words will be more clear
Bye.

Hi,
Not sure what you're looking after... .
The bass sound itself, I tried something, but I don't manage to nail it down exactly.
But I guess that any bass is ok for French touch. The clue is to play the bass at the upbeat.
Some claim that people like Daft Punk use a sidechain compresser, which basically gates (volume down) the bass sound at the moment of the drum kick, to have this toggling sound.
You get that feel a bit by either of these:
* monophony patch, hold a key and play another key an octave higher.
* use the arpeggiator to do the octave up trick.
Bye
