Odd request: Can I make a sound for you; Kronos

Hey Engima - I have one for you, should be pretty simple but my brain isn't working correctly this morning and I just can't seem to get it right. I'm trying to come up with Tony Banks' Prophet 10 organ sound from the Genesis song ABACAB. I've got the Arp Quadra "guitar" lead sound nailed on my Prophet 12 (a bit of irony there), but I'm having trouble getting the organ sound right. I've been working in AL-1

EDIT: OK - scratch that - I was messing around and actually found a stock patch that was relatively close (U-B072). I brought down the resonance a bit and changed the chorus and it's way closer than I ever managed to get on my own.

I am not expert but it looks like the Prophet ' sits ' on his Hammond .

It might be Tonys Hammond T102 for the organ sound.

From everything I've read, I'm almost positive it's the Prophet making the sound. Live, it's definitely the Prophet. It's a P10, so there are 2 keybeds. I don't think there's anything underneath it. The P10 is basically 2 P5s stacked together. I'm sure there's a bit of outboard chorus and reverb behind it.

Here I come, stealth like a thief, in this incredible thread.

I downloaded some pcg, just to have something to do now that i've the flu, and I have to say that I really appreciate your work, Enigma!

I have a little request, just a "resoshape"-like lead sound which I'm having trouble.

Jump to 2.25, and listen to the said lead. It's like some sort of formant shifting (99% a cascade of Cuebase plugins, IM uses tons of that stuff even for the simplest of their sound), but could it be reproduced on the Kronos someway?

Side note - You initially mentioned it was a combination of Epiano, Organ and something else... When I went into making it, and you mentioned Marty used a Prophet 5 to make the sound originally, I decided to go analog and see how close I could get.

Take a look/listen. I feel like there's still room for improvement, however in a club/bar/live venue, it's an entirely usable sound that people wouldn't be able to distinguish. I'd need the actual synth kicking around to see how it was done, but I think it's pretty close.

Which one? The reverse "whispy" synth, or the percussive one? Or the guitar sounding one?

Wanted to say thanks to enigmahack for his generosity in sharing the patches in this thread.

I recently decided to come out of a long hibernation and audition for a cover band doing 1970's-1980's 'Classic Rock' songs. I ran out of time, and had gotten too involved with learning the 20 tunes, so I hired enigmahack to recreate Kronos patches for 2 very iconic keyboard-heavy songs, and he came through almost immediately (within hours). These are tunes that everyone knows, and there was no way I was going to cobble stock presets and wing it.

Thanks again, enigmahack - You got great ears!

ps: the audition went well, got good comments on my sounds and that I bothered to learn everything (I guess the other guys were pretty lazy about it). I didn't hear back for a few days, and I figured they found someone else. Today, I just got a simple email containing a request that I learn the next 25 songs, and to clear a bunch of dates for rehearsals and gigs. Guess I'm in!

I think you did an outstanding job!!! It is the best reproduction in a single program that I have ever heard. I have only one thing that could be added. These is a very slight percussion, "split-second click" at beginning of each note that I am not hearing. Kind of like the click you get playing a hammond organ. I could live without it, but if tinker anymore with it, please see if can be added.

Funny enough, this is actually a fast-acting envelope. I had more attack on a previous version that I had, but it didn't sound right. I'm happy to put it back in, and I'll see if I can get this a little closer.
I do know exactly what you're talking about though, so I'll see what I can come up with.

Very nice. You do nail quite a few sounds.
I have one request if you have nothing else to do. My band wants to do More Human Than Human from White Zombie. I am not good at programming at all. Way over my head. If you'd be so kind and get something close to the beginning up to when the guitars come in, that would be spectacular. I thought about just sampling it but the sound is in the song without all the other hard guitar crunches and moans. Kind of a lighter version of the sequence.
