I am willing to buy the Berlin Grand and want KRS07. But I certainly won't buy EXS18, after already having bought the funk brass package, and pay for these sounds twice, plus for additional sounds I don't need and want, like choir.

Could somebody from Korg please clarify this mess?
You might be looking at this the wrong way. You can buy the Berlin piano and they'll give you the other sounds for free.

The Austrian Piano is $249, it's only 6 GB. The Berlin Piano is 8.6 GB and also $249. But you're also getting EXs18. Perhaps they're updated samples, perhaps not. But at the very least you're getting your money's worth on the Berlin...

I agree nobody wants to waste money on duplicate EXs

If the Berlin is as good as reported, I was prepared for $199

So the extra $50 is not something to get worked up over. I am confident I will get good value with all the other EXS and the programming is quite important for me. That's well worth the $50 from my perspective

Let's find out what the RAM overhead is for these two sample libraries.

I see my first post of irritation was quoted faster, than I could have second thoughts and edit a minute later. :)

Frankly, for someone like me really enjoying getting the hands on the Berlin, the offer looks rather generous. And it just came to my mind, that thanks to "load required samples" in OS3 I will not be forced to install some brass sounds twice, or install choir sounds I won't use. And the remaining selection from legendary strings will be welcome here.

So I am not really pushed to install all those samples of a bundle, which I don't want and need. Bottom note: I'm really glad the Berlin has arrived, and to have access to the new patches!
Thank you Korg!

I want the Berlin and was expecting to pay this, though I feel the new patches should be a free update. I mean come on, at least the ones using previous samples!

That said I also own the Funk & Soul Brass, so while I'm getting stuff for "Free", it decreases the value for those of us that already bought any of these libraries. I feel we should get a further reduced price to reflect that. It does have a little bit of an "extortion" feel. LOL

No one is having the package deal forced on them. If it does not make sense, the ' market ' will tell this to Korg, and Korg could respin the offering

I think having patience might be an option for those where this package is not a good fit

And we have not seen the new programmed sounds plus the legendary strings /choir samples that are part of the package. There should be some good value in there

Does anybody know where I can get the list of sounds for the KRS-07? I couldn't find anything on Korg.com. I'd like to know what they've got that I don't already have programmed or from BurningBusch's free download.

Works out as £165, I was expecting £200 - I'm happy with that price.

There is a voice list of programs for the Kronos2 which does at least list the famous song programs

I also would have liked to have the downloads separate... seems like it would've been better for both Korg's servers and to Kronos owners to un-bundle that 5.2 GB download into separate packages.

Like others, I already own the Funk and Soul brass... but I guess in order to enjoy the new KRS-07 programs and combis which use those samples, it would probably need to reference the sounds' locations as they are in the new package. But

Overall, though, I feel the benefits outweigh the advantages.

++ free upgrade to OS 3.02 with its over-the-top improvements
+ for a cost-effective bundle with the Berlin Grand, select brass, choirs, strings
+ for cover patches
- for bundling them all together as a $250, 5.2 GB package deal

On the whole, paying $250 to upgrade the bread and butter functionality of a flagship is a good deal. It's optional and cost-effective, although not ideal. I'm in.
