Independent transposition in song mode

Post by dougmccu »

I set up song play with an MP3 and a keyboard, usually a piano or organ to practice new songs for the bands in which I perform. That way I can play along and learn the song well. However, sometimes our singer decides that he wants to do it in a different key than the recording. I want to be able to transpose the MP3, but NOT the keyboard, so I can practice the song in his key. I haven't been able to do this at this time. Please help. Thanks!

if it's pa900, in settings, you can split keyboard out of mp3. So the transpose works differently on both

To transpose MP3 is possible in that case transposition remains only inside the range of -5…+6 semitones. This range is enough to cover all keys, but allows to avoid excessive audio degradation.

Use the checkbox "Transpose applies to Player" to turn the Master Transpose "on" for the onboard Player, so transpose applies to Player.

Use the parameter "Transpose applies to Style and Kbd tracks" in Menu TransposeControl to turn the Master Transpose "off", so Master Transpose is not applied to Style and Keyboard tracks.

Chords shown in the Lyrics page are, however, transposed.
kind regards
