Kp3 + Microkorg help a brother out!

Post by Guy Cooks »

Hoping someone can help me. BBm the two together. i have a mixer too.
Tried to sync to kaoss to internal and the microkorg as the ext, all on ch 1

some of the sample banks on the microkorg sounded off and would hold the note. and the bpm didnt sync? how do i get this to work and how to i set it up to my mixer? i also dont understand how to chain them together. I want to play lines on the microkorg and use the kaoss to loop them, but i cant figure the sync or in what order. use the mixer as the out? can someone list them out in steps? thank you!

Hi Guy Cooks.
Did you get sorted by now?
you didnt list wether you wanted to feed other stuff to your KP or not.You could feed the Microkorg straight into the KPs audio input, set KP to direct mode then set depth control for FX mix.
Or send mixers master out into KP and feed everything into the box for processing/sampling,or if you're FX send on mixer is 'prefade' then set KP to 'send' mode and select indervidual channels to effect and have MicroKorg input to one of your mixer channels.
With midi there is a problem with midi clock sync on the KP3- it doesnt work, there is another thread about this on this forum.I wouldnt bother with midi clock (just set both to internal). You could do away with the midi cable and just earball it,sampling when needed and play Korg live or you could send midi CCs to MK from KP and change the synth sound with the KPs controls. There is a midi filter that is useful on KP(that prevents program changes and such) ,also one on MK.
