Instrument defintiions
I would think that downloading instrument definition files would be a piece of cake, especially when loading it to Cakewalk Sonar. HOwever, I have tried months ago, given up, and retried now--and still can't get it done. I had found 1 site, but when I tried to download it, it came with a lot of adds that my computer said contained trojans.
DOes anyone know of a safe site that has the instrument definition files for a Korg Kronos going into Sonar software.
Thanks.

The link above works as of yesterday or I would not have posted it.fclef wrote:Send me a private message and I'll send you the file. The original link has expired.

Here's a direct link to the file on one of my personal servers. I used the link above because it gives some details in the blog about the added elements in this new INS file when the OS was updated and additional user banks were added ...

Re: Sonar instrument definitions
That file looks quite simple to create... maybe I should add it for PCG Tools (Cubase is already supported but this file format seems easy too) ... I could add the controllers and GM bank hardcoded.Thoraldus wrote:The link above works as of yesterday or I would not have posted it.fclef wrote:Send me a private message and I'll send you the file. ins file from kronos editor
you can create ins files from the kronos editor - all you have to do is read the programmes into the editor and then save as .ins - it will work in Sonar by linking to the ins via the Preferences menu.

Thank you, Thoraldus. I tried your link just now, after having downloaded it last nite, and it worked perfectly. I didn’t have to try any of the suggestions after yours.
Thanks as well, michelkeijzers. I did download the link from your personal site, but didn’t have to use it since the above one worked so well. Thanks also for offering to answer any questions I had.
Luckily, I don’t have to try to figure out what RKFan said. Doesn’t seem too complicated, but, as I said, the job is done.
