Recording into DAW via mS line level outputs

Does anyone send the line level audio out of the mS and record/track into their DAW and then mix with other DAW tracks (guitar/VOX)?

What kind of success have you had in having the mS sounds "fit in the mix?"

I'm thinking, for example, is it best to minimize or eliminate effects from the mS (reverb, compression) and let the DAW more cohesively do that.

Make sense? Record mS "dry".
