I'm no electrician or electrical engineer, but common sense tells me everytime you change or modify an electronic board on your own (by hand) you could totally get hit with random results. Can you reproduce exact results like he did? Probably not. Is it safe? How could possibly anybody answer that?
The thing is , do you use this keyboard at home for personal enjoyment, or you actually use this for gigs? If it's for home use only, then the worse case scenario is that you'll fry or ruin the board and will buy another one. If you take it out for gigs, it's definitely not a smart thing to do.
