Is there some way to externally control the three Knob Assign controls through CC? I'm trying to set up my external keyboard controller to use these since I want to use multiple MKXL programs without having to set up individual controls.
I would set my Ext Controller's knobs to the 6 patch slots inside the program but the third party programs I use have these already used for other things. It seems ridiculous that this can't be set-up to just the Knob Assigns (3 per Timbre) which doesn't require to make any further settings per program.
If not, I was just given a Alesis Vortex keytar I'm trying to map my MKXL to. It has three assignable knobs, a ribbon controller with three assignable switchable slots, and an accelerometer assignment (for keytar tilt). What would the best universal mapping for these, as your opinion? (It also has a pitch wheel and sustain button which are hardwired, but I'm fine with that).
Naturally whatever is patched into the mod wheel would go to the tilt or ribbon controller, but this (without the knob assign) isn't always the same from MKXL program to program.
I've come across this problem before when setting up other controllers, I just wonder why this hasn't been brought up. Am I missing something?

Hi,
According to me, it is not possible to set up a universal set up to control the Knob Assign controls through CC. The knobs itself are no parameters controlling the synth engine. They are on the other hand assigned to parameters. Some of these parameters are associated with CC messages. When that is the case, the controls will send out these CC messages when turning the knobs.
Concerning the virtual patches, in the global menu of the mKXL, you can modify the CC map and make sure that virtual patch intensity send/react at other CC messages than those already assigned for your other 3rd party devices.
In general, I assume you also trigger program changes in the mKXL using your ext controller. Does it not support something like profiles? Then I would associate on your ext controller different parameters per program and not only limit to the (universal) patch intensities
Bye.
