Jim, thanks for that and the same to you - and to all at the forums. (My demos are at my sig below.) I'm still around but not so frequently. I'm glad to see some good friends here who make this place better with experience, devotion, intelligence and goodwill. Bringing back the good old vibe of Korgforums.com.

It's good to hear about the Kronos OS stability and to see the expanding amount of excellent sound libraries, like Busch's now. I'm very happy with OASYS but I would be glad to buy a Kronos, too. In the meantime I'm enjoying SV-1, R3, MS-20 mini. I've just tried KingKorg deeply now - what a great instrument!

Man... Thanks isn't enough. I JUST got my Kronos 88 about 3 weeks ago. Needless to say, I'm in love. And in only a couple of weeks, I've probably only put maybe 30 hours into it. So I haven't even gotten to 1st base with the gal yet. I've been listening to the many of the stock Progs and haven't even begun creating a sound from scratch. But that's my plan for this weekend. And I happened upon this forum today and I'm SO glad I did.

I love what you're doing. I'm fascinated by what you've said so far.

So, again... "Thanks" isn't enough. Definitely provide us a place where I can buy you a beer.

The Tubes - She's a Beauty

I'm assuming you'd use the step sequencer to trigger on osc of a hard sync to get that? Also need to maybe have some sort of control to change "gating" for it to do just the sweep part. Could be a fun challenge.

I made that sound on my Triton. It was actually really simple. I forget what base sound I used. Created a simple arpeggiator. Then I used the Gate (if I remember correctly) to get the "sweep". Worked perfectly.

I can send you the studio recording we did of it. It still impresses me even when I hear it.

Anyway... If I get a chance, I'd be happy to try to recreate that sound on my Kronos. It's something I really want to start doing. I created a few excellent sounds on the Triton that I'd like to recreate (maybe improve?) on my Kronos.

PS: After the first try i have many favorites already

Especially i like all the flute type of leads like:

Mays: American Garage
Jones: New Song

all of the softer brass sounds:

Toto: Africa Brass
WR: Birdland Brass
OB Four Voice Brass

and of course really outstanding IMO are:

Floyd: On the Run (while tweaking filter resonance & cutoff)
WR: Scarlet Woman
