my new music instruments-seller

Post by Jürgen »

Today I had something time and went into a new music center.
After long discussions about technology and new syntis, by kronos, motif and kurzweil, the seller had to laugh out loud.
He took me to the piano department, and I had to blindly listen and guess what the now well behind the best
device would be.
And sorry it was no kronos and no motif ...
But an old yamaha Tyros3!!

To the conclusion he meant learning rather reasonable once and play notes and revels not only in some dream sounds!
But with yet more quiet .......buy,buy,buy...
Because I live it!!!!

I think this is really true.

However, I noticed there is something else much more important: when you play yourself, it is a whole different experience as if somebody else plays.

I don't mean the quality/feel of the keyboard, but the way you experience the sound and playing. This part is not taken into account when somebody else plays but also very important.

"when you play yourself, it is a whole different experience as if somebody else plays."

This is so true, I even have this experience with my own playing. The apparent sound quality seems to change on my keyboards depending on my attitude and approach to performing.

And the different experience, between playing and just listening, can be good or bad, better or worse.

I guess sound is in the ear of the beholder, and even that's fickle.

So

Which one is better? you may ask, I say, well it all depends on your attitude, and that changes all the time.

This is why I want them all.... the only question is, which one next?

and yes, the Tyros is on the list. and no, my wife is not happy about this.

Agree 100%. Mood and attitude have a huge influence.

That's a bit scary sometimes though...

Tyros is great with it's "Megavoices." I think the only other thing that does some similar things with its acoustic instrument voices is Roland's "SuperNatural" acoustic sounds in the Jupiter 50/80 and Integra-7.

I think an Intergra-7 would be a great add-on for the Kronos!
