help - problem with korgusers.net registration
hey all,
New to this forum and to the oasys.
I've just got mine second-hand about a week ago;
previous owner doesn't know/remember his user name or password for the korgusers.net, and even though it says to talk to my local distributer in order to change the registration to my name, my local distributer (which is amazingly annoying) doesn't know how to and is refusing to help me find out.
so....
any Ideas>?

Welcome to KF
Get in touch with korg support for your area. You will probably need the name of the previous owner plus the public ID for your OASYS.
Then ownership will be transferred to you and you'll be able to register.
Enjoy the OASYS!

thanks
korg support for my area is the local distributer, and, as i mentioned - they're utterly useless...
Unless you meant some other support. i've sent a support request to korg US as they seem to be pretty active and helpful.
and about the OASYS - i just wish there were more hours each day....

Was going to suggest Korg USA as the next step. They are known to be proactive and am sure they'll do all they can to help.
Yep, that's the OASYS effect
enjoy
It's still the best keyboard Korg have EVER made!

Did Korg USA not even offer some advice?
How about you ask the previous owner to go to korguser.net and at the log in page, get him to click on the 'Forgot Password?'. He will then get an email with a link to reset the password for his email address.
He sends that email to you.
You login with his email address and reset the password.
Then update the details with your information (deleting his email address and replacing with yours for example).
Worth a try?

ok - so i'm about to do just that (good thinking man), things are a bit slow-going around here right now, 'cause everybody's busy at the war stuff.... luckily, that ended, so now we're free to do some music...
the korg USA costumer service offered very kind assistance, but in the end they had no new ideas for me, and no way to contact those who operate the korgusers.net site (which would have been, probably, the easy way to sort it all out)..
again, i'll keep posting my progress.
tnx man!

Your Country Korg Distributor should contact Korg Japan if they don't know how to update/modify the Korg User.net database. Your country Korg Distributor IS responsible for ALL Korg product support in your country.mr. Galit wrote:oh, sorry.
meaning korg USA told me they just can't help me, the local distributer isn't able to help either and the former owner just doesn't know the user/password to the site. so i'm stuck.
Don't let them off the hook. If they say they can't do anything ask them:
1. Aren't they responsible for all Korg support in your country?
2. Why can't they contact Korg Japan if they have questions or are having trouble?
** KORG Product Support Contacts **
(they support BOTH hardware and software)
Korg USA Product support -- https://www.korgusa.com/contactus (For fastest service I would suggest calling them on the phone)
Outside the U.S. contact your Korg Country Distributor -- https://www.korg.com/us/corporate/distributors/

Hey Martin,
Thanks for the advice!
I actually did that (one of the first things i've tried).
the answer for the first question was "yes, we are responsible for all korg products, but once we gave the password and username to the previous owner, we just can't do nothing about it - it's between the two of you".
their reply to the second question was that it's just not an option.
Now, they might be right - maybe they can't do nothing about it. i just recently spoke to the korg USA costumer service and, though they were very kind, said they can't help me as well.
The thing i'm wondering about right now is if there's a direct way to complain to korg japan - i mean, if korg distributer in Israel is not representing the korg brand well enough, and not supplying the level of service one would expect from a company such as korg - how can i complain about it?
anyways - I really like you're attitude about it and what you've advised me to do - but it didn't go smooth at all...

Hi Mr Galit,
You could look at the SERIAL NUMBER of the OASYS (on the back) and see if the owner registered it on the 'Find your Evil/Good OASYS Twin' page here
http://www.karma-lab.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6456
Maybe he will have used the same Username on the list AND KorgUser.net.
If they are the same, you can do the 'forgotten password' and HE will get the email to reset his password.
Also, probably, korguser.net will give a page that says that an email HAS been sent to him, and YOU will know the email was sent to him.
Hopefully he kept that email address! (and remembers THAT password!)

ok, i've checked it - he's not listed. tnx anyway.
still wondering about the direct route to korg japan - does anybody know anything about something like that?
i've set to meet the guy i bought the oasys from to pick up some guide books and cd's, so i'll try to get him to try the "password recovery" option while i'm there.
thanks againg for the help!
