Samples importing into Kronos...

Post by ytterligare »

Hello, a month before deciding for the K, I bought Ivory II Grand Pianos from Synthogy ( http://synthogy.com/products/ivorygrand.html#features ), three beatyfully sampled pianos, for a whopping 77 GB of samples...!!

I was wondering if and how it could be possible to import at least partially some of them into the K, maybe using some ad-hoc softwares like ChickenSys'.....keep in mind my Kronos is yet to arrive but I already have the 4GB RAM and the second 128 GB SSD ready for the upgrade..)
I know the SG-1 pianos are really good, but I feel like I've got the Ivory for nothing, and it costed me 280 Euros ( about 360 $)...
I'm not afraid of working hard to have them translated, I work in the IT, but the question is, "is there such software in the market ?" :-k

Yep tnx, my bad....I've found this thread :

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... ort+sample

Although Ivory samples seems to be in proprietary mode and encrypted...

If I understood well, there seems to be some softwares that can sample from VST though...that could be a way...will see..

For now thanks, and if anyone is in "urge" to add some other valuable thread links on the subj, please...do !! :)

Thanx

I love the Ivory too. I will find the time to sample somthing to use in my Krnonos as well.
You can use Extreme Sample Converter in realtime sampling mode to sample the Ivory. You can sample how many notes you want and also how many velocities you like. After this process you export it as sf2 and load it to your Kronos. Here you will start to create your HD-1 program with your new Piano. You cannot use the SGX-1 for user samples but you will be able to have a good piano in HD-1 as well.
If you're an IT guy I'm sure you can manage to figure it out.

Good Luck.

I purchased Ivory also, but when I try to sell about a year later, I found out I couldn't transfer the license.

Will NEVER buy another Synthogy product, ever.
