Playing other instruments through the Kronos

Post by Dbe4l »

I know ive seen this information around somewhere but cant seem to find it so wondering if anyone could help.

I want to be able to play and record other instruments like guitar and bass throught the kronos using its effects. But i cant figure out how to get it to work. KNow its something to do with fx buses and audio in and thigns like that but i cant get it to work.

And whats the best way to hook up the instruemnt, lets say a bass, to the kronos, then add something liek a delay effect, then have it go through a real bass amp? i just dont want to overload or damage anything.

I'm not at my Kronos right now but I record guitar and bass onto it also using the IFX. For bass I also use the bass amp models as well. I just wish I could remember the routing. You do have to make sure the IFX are routed through the audio mixer. Use the Use the audio routing 1tab on the IFX page. There is another page; can't remember what; that show you how hard your input signal is. It's important to now overload the input.

Hi!

I am using my Little Phatty with the Kronos.

My method is to make Combis with the sounds I want to play on the kronos and one Timbre I route my Moog thru.
So it's just like creating and using a Combi with external Audio activated.

You can also use Global: Audio. But then you will use the effects of the last Programm or Combi selected. It'a only useful if your Progs or Combis deactivate the individual settings for audio input.

Have not dug deeper yet.

I forgot. I too have used my Waverstation EX to control sounds on my Kronos. BEcause of the feel of the keyboard sometimes I've used it to play organ sounds while I might have the Kronos playing piano or strings. I just set it to a different midi channel and have the appropriate sound on the kronos set to the same channel.

Search the PDF Operation Guide. I am sure there is a procedure there.

1. Go to the Audio tab in Global mode.
2. Set Bus Select Input 1 to L/R or to any of the IFX slots.
3. Plug in your instrument to Input 1 ensuring that it is set to LINE and adjust gain as necessary.
4. Go ahead and play your instrument in Program, Combi, Sequencer or Sampling mode ensuring that global settings box is selected.

If you've selected one of the IFX Slots, just assign the effect you want for your instrument.
