Hello guys,
I am enjoying the M50. However some drums seem to me a bit indistinctive (like e.g. Funk kit, its kick drum or snare), or distinctive in ways that seem to me a bit weird (e.g. Trance kit - snare is too dull).
I like for example drums in EMX demo Garage - http://soundcloud.com/korg/emx-garage The kick drum I like, snare is distinctive, a bit bassy, but still recognizable as a snare.
On the beginning of the Sprinter EMX demo http://soundcloud.com/korg/s02-sprinter there are nice soft hihat and tambourine.
Could you please give me a tip on what to tweak to achieve such sounds? (like playing with compression, EQ or maybe with IFX tube amplifier simulation)
I will be glad to share my created drum kits if I create them.
Or are there some user drum kits that sound like that?
Thank you for any suggestions.
How to create EMX-like drums / New drum kits?

Hi there,
As you probably know, you can create your own drum kit by playing around with up to four samples per note and then tweak various parameters to hopefully get the sound you desire.
I found a lot of tips on a website that was basically giving tips on programming in Reason.
It explained how certain sounds were achieved for certain types of music.
Although it was not directly related to the M50, the theory behind it was solid and it might give you some ideas on what to tweak with the M50.
Heres a link to the site.

Have a look to see if it helps you out.
(It is actually interesting anyway to get some basic composition ideas)
