Installation by our expert KORG technicians is included. To take advantage of this offer, please arrange with your Korg dealer to have your KRONOS sent to Korg UK. Alternately please contact KORG UK customer services (Tel 01908 304650) to book the upgrade. (Carriage charges apply in both cases).
Or...
A Free KORG Hard Case (Plastic Shell) with 61, 73 and 88 note KRONOS!
For a limited period, KRONOS Workstations will be offered as a bundle complete with a KORG ABS Hard Case, specially made for the KORG KRONOS, featuring the KORG logo and roller wheels for easy transportation*.
The offer is only available through participating UK and R.O.I. KORG dealers.
The promotion period is August 6th 2012 until November 30th 2012 but will expire sooner if stock runs out.
* The supplied case is an ABS plastic style hard case intended only for the care, storage and light-duty transportation of the product.
I also noticed this yesterday. The offer relates to new or very recent purchases of the old Kronos only and NOT to existing Kronos owners looking to upgrade.
There is a normal update price indicated of £219 (+ carriage?). Could this be the price for existing owners who require the SSD and RAM update? If so it seems a little expensive?
What do other existing owners think????
Korg Kronos 88, Korg M1, Novation SL61 MKII, Roland JV1080 with Techno expansion, Roland D110, Yamaha MU80, KRK Rokit 5 monitors, Akai ME30PII midi patch bay, Behringer RX1602 mixer, ESI ESP1010e audio interface, Quad Core PC, Cubase Pro 9.0, SE X1 condenser mic.
This is just to get rid of the old Kronos hardware, which is still in stock...
Keys+Sound Sources: Kronos 61, X2, X3, i3, i30, SG pro X, nanoPAD2, Yamaha MU100R, 2x CME UF70, Behringer FCB-1010, Yamaha FC-7
Sequencer: Steinberg Cubase Pro 8 & Nuendo 6.5
Outboard FX from Lexcion, Sony and Yamaha
Digital Mixers only from Yamaha
It's £149 for people who brought their Kronos before August 1st 2012
The normal price of this upgrade is £219 but for a limited time, existing owners who purchased their KRONOS from an appointed KORG UK dealer before August 1st 2012 can get this upgrade for just £149.
This offer is only available between Aug 1st and Nov 30th 2012.
Edit: If I read their site correctly, people who buy an original kronos now are entitled to BOTH the free case and the £99 upgrade
Edit: Also, the upgrade is a second SSD around 32GB rather than the original replaced with a 60GB SSD, which could be of concern to a few people who intend to whack in a much bigger 2nd SSD as well.

I did not see any mention of the £149 (+ Carriage?) cost for older kronos owners.
However if so this still seems excessive for 1GB of cheap ram and another 30GB SSD??
Based upon the original cost of the Kronos, if UK owners had bought the keyboard now they would have saved a couple of hundred pounds, had a Kronos X equivalent (3GB RAM & 60GB SSD) and a Korg case!
If I ever purchase another high end keyboard in future I think I would definitely
not be an early adopter and would wait to allow any initial bugs or issues to be resolved and for updates to be embedded, hardware updated etc...

The FREE case is only for NEW purchases of the OLD Kronos and not part of the upgrade offer.
A £149 plus carriage it is not a great deal when an extra 1gb of RAM can be had for £15 and a 30GB SSD for less than £40. I know it includes installation but that works out at £90 - £100 for the installation.
Seems like the early adopters are losing out??

They normally charge £60+VAT/hour so £90 for the installation seems about right to me - I wouldn't want them hurrying with my Kronos!
