My nearest service center is 3 hours away (1way).....just imagine how expensive it will be to ship it to him....(I've got the 88 key)

Congrats to Korg for Os 2.0. Streaming samples from the ssd was all I wanted . Ver Happy here :D :D :D

However I do hope that service center here will stop being greed. They charge a minimun of $ 110.00 for the first hour and $80 just to have a look and give you a quote. All service centers shold get told by korg to be a bit fair on this new chapter since it is a simple procedure and can be done in less than 30mins.

I'm not angry, but i think we deserve something, at least a discounted upgrade, because these service centers are expensive.
I'm quite agree with james here...

not only they will charge for parts, they will also charge for labors (which is extremely expensive).. YES we do deserve something... i think they only should charge for parts instead of charging for labors also..

Dan i hope you listened..
Sorry guys, but I must respectfully disagree. I'm also an early adopter. I saw the specs of the Kronos, I went to a dealer and played one spending a couple hours on it. I also auditioned instruments from Roland and Yamaha. I considered the purchase price of the Kronos and decided that it was worth the price, so I purchased. (I would have spent hundreds more, to be honest.) We completed a fair business transaction. Korg doesn't owe me anything.

And seriously, who buys any kind of technology without expecting that a year later a new improved model will be released? I bought the original iPad, did Apple owe me for beta testing it when the iPad 2 came out? Of course not. That's how we play the game.

This is becoming like iphone/ipad...every year or so, new hardware with slight enhancements. Why didnt they enhance the motherboard? Too hard? Well...here is to the 'X' :beer ( even though i dont drink lol)

Now, Korg just sells my idea (upgrading SSD and using a second one) with a red X....
Since I have already 128 GB from first day inside, may I put two rex X on the backside or what ?

Anyway, thumbs up for picking up the modifications, which a lot of forum members already made months ago... Lan + Sampling are really appreciated inventions ! Maybe there's a new editor, which will be more usable, in the pipeline as well ?

Apropos Editor, I just hope the OS 2.0 will be delivered faster than the editor, since for it was announced "available soon" as well, while "soon" took one year in the end...

Cheers

Exciting as it is I won't have the cash to buy one. Would you be able to still install the 2.0 OS without upgrading the drive and the Ram on the original KRONOS? I know it's all about larger samples ect but still wondering if the 2.0 OS would work? I care more about EXi's etc and KARMA than sampling.

Just read the whole thread, all your questions have been answered at least once already....

Yes, you can install 2.0 without any hardware upgrades.

I’ve seen screenshots with 120gb SSD discs detected (I use to believe that was the maximum accepted by Kronos OS) but into French site Kronoscopie there is an screenshot with 256 gb detected disc (and working!)

Within OS 2.0, Is there any official SSD capacity limit? As you imagine, do not make sense to buy a 256 gb SSD hard drive if only the half will be detected.

Any comment on that, please?

As noted before, there is no practical technical limitation to SSD size.

Installation must be done by an authorized service center; user installation is not supported and may void your warranty. Contact your Korg Distributor for details on purchase and installation. Different distributors may have different policies; don't buy an SSD before talking with them.

Oh, please. Because Korg decides to improve a product that makes you a beta tester of the original? I recommend you avoid the 2.0 update for about a year so that you won't have to be a beta tester of that.

OS 2 is wonderful news! I have been very critical of getting no feedback from Korg about fixing bugs, but any kind of upgrade is good and there are majorly great improvements here.

Thank you Korg!

We were satisfied users and we get now a great improvement. I can not qualify that of beta test...
