Oasys Display

Post by DavidLane »

Hey guys..

This is "ucdream" from way back. I have had a heck of a time trying to get logged back in...ultimately, I had to create a whole new account. Okay, who cares? I hope you are all doing great and making awesome tunes.

I gotta ask those that are technically saavy: My Oasys 88...I haven't played it for months. I had a hand injury that jacked up my entire CD project. Anyway, here is what happens... after many months of not even being played, the touch screen on my Oasys is totally dead, except for the very upper-right drop down menu. But that doesn't even always work. I did a search here in the forum but came up empty handed. Is my Oasys basically dead? Possibly a connector inside? It has not been moved for many months. So it has not been subjected to impact. It worked 4 months ago. I am beside myself about this. I can't navigate anywhere in the system with a dead screen. ...Help?

Sorry to sound so pathetic. LOL...Thanks in advance to any advice you all might throw my way. I know electronics go bad, unexpectedly...

Aside from my woes, how are all my long lost buddies from here doing? Missed you guys!! No more hand injuries for me! Hah. At least I have all my fingers intact.

SoulBe...

Nice to see you again. Thank you. Seriously, thank you...I have been glued to my computer over this matter. The humorous nature of that is that 3/6 months down the road, some guy/gal will explain my problem and I will have already buried my Oasys in the back yard.

Again, good to see you. Thank you for the tip. No..I will not really put dirt on my might O. Actually...it's not so mighty until the display works again!

All the best.
UCanDream/David

P.S. Could Sharp reactivate my old user name? I am having an identity crisis here. Anyone have a clue? Does Sharp even work here anymore? LOL...work...hahaha

Cheers.
UCanDream

P.S.S. Oh, I actually do have some new music....anyone curious? Yes, I know I am going to be insulted...it's all good.

okie dokie...then I wont ask him to connect me to my old SN or anything like that.

Then again,...I have my first and last name for all to see. And most of my old buddies here know I am in Canon City, CO. What about the ax murderers out there? Should I run away, up to the mountains?? Then again, don't ax murderers spend their time in the trees??..chopping things?? So maybe I should not be in the mountains! LOL...now, IF I actually post this, most of my help will likely not even help me.

Well...I will keep checking responses, even if I am being goofy.

On a serious note, I truly am stressed over this matter.

All the best,

Hey SoulBe..

I feel like an idiot. I have been migrating from 'Supload' to SoundCloud...but how do I lead you to SC? I mean, I can get there...but that requires a login. Good grief, I actually don't know how...well, just tell me how to get you to my SC stuff...if you know. Sorry for my ignorance.

Sincere regards.

Hi there UCanDream - nice to see you here again :)

But not good about the screen... Can't offer any more help than that already suggested, but I can imagine how must feel. An ill OASYS means an ill you! I do hope that it can be sorted soon.

Re soundcloud... Go to your soundcloud page.

Top left of the track is a button called 'Share'. Click on it and copy all of the code that's in the 'embed' box. You can then paste that code into a post here and by the magic of the internet and sharp's forum we get this... (one of my tracks as an example!)

PS - get in touch with Pepperpotty (admin) she might be able to help you with sign-in/account.

Cello!!!

Very good to see you my friend. Okay... I will follow your directions...let's see how I do.

On a high note, your music is stellar. It always has been. "Ear candy" is not enough commendation. Keep it up, buddy. You are sounding great!

"Anthem of Athletes"...very nice. I like your majors to 7ths and then Maj to Min...cool stuff. Accidentals are not overdone...but they are nice..even anticipated. Cello, you did some really neat stuff in this tune.

You go bro!!

You are too kind DavidLane  Appreciate your kind feedback - it is always a real encouragement to read it. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

I wanted to have a listen to your track but it's saying it's not available?

I was hoping maybe Dan might chime in with a thought. Is he around anymore? I will pop the hood to my Oasys in the next couple days. Maybe just a goofed ribbon cable...crossing fingers. I still hope Dan runs across this and offers his expert input.

Cello, I wasn't being kind. Your stuff is good, period. Rich stuff...and it seems to me that your music is maturing. As a listener, I have to wait patiently for passages- you execute some nice stuff. Your music isn't hurried...and maybe that's what is most intriguing. You make your audience wait for the juicy, good stuff. Always great stuff to listen to! I'll link another tune or two later. I'm still crying and licking my wounds (figuratively) over my display problem. I am aghast at the $800 (add labor for a tech's time...then add tax) price tag for the screen.

Mixingboard provided this link: http://store.computerccw.com/ccw/produc ... cts_id/928

There is no way that this is a touch screen! Any one know if it IS a touch screen for a certainty?

Sorry to be such a pain with my problems.

Thanks all.
