MicroSTATION live performance: save overall sequence volume?

Post by Reesa »

Hi,

I'm using sequenced original songs on the MicroSTATION for live performance. I load the songs into the Micro in the same order as the set list, and that's working really well. My only problem is the overall volume/level of the songs varies (although I tried to record with the same drum volume on each song, some just ended up being quieter or louder than the average).

So is there any way to adjust the overall level of a sequence, other than adjusting each track individually? I pored over the manual, but I can't find it. Anyone?

I believe there is no way to adjust all seq (all 128 songs) overall volume. However you can adjust MASTER VOLUME for each song, while keeping the balance within the 16 tracks of that song. For edit that parameter go to SEQ>EDIT>Master Vol.

Detailed explanation:
1- (SEQ) press SEQ and select the song
2- (->) press right
3- then down or up until EDIT is displayed
4- (->) right again
5- down until "Master Vol" is showed on the screen. Master vol is just below the effects section of the song.
6- (->) then right and type in the value you want. Value ranges 0-127.

You may select each song and proceed trough all 6 steps to balance levels from song to song. I believe that levels depends on effects used and its settings so "Master Vol" has not necessarily to be at same setting for get same output. So put an ear and tell me!

Hope this helps
