using the foot pedal as a wah wah pedal
does anybody know how to use a foot pedal as a wah wah pedal on the m3?

I do this from memory since I don't have now a synth around.
However, afaik you can select a wah wah effect, set the pedal to some CC value or function, than use the AMS for the wah wah to that CC (i.e. the pedal).

simple and easy
Go to IFX page and put the Wah effect you want
then go wet and dry ( page bottom ) assign to pedal or foot switch
put the amount ( +75 ) .
Go global page > controller > assign FS or Pedal to what you want
save and ENJOY

There are two types of foot controller - switch and pedal.
Switch (momentary) is just on/off. So wah controlled with a switch would be an all or nothing choice... a and Z! with no steps between.
Volume Pedal or Expression Pedal (CC = continuous control) provides a range of values that would give the best results for controlling wah. a-b-c-d-e...x-y-Z!
The previous posts are correct in indicating that you need to select what the pedal will do and also what it will work with (value of parameter that it will modulate) in any given program or combi. That can change from one program or combi to another depending on how you set it up.

Most everyone has their own idea of what good is, you can get better by changing some of the parameters. It won't have the "character" of specialized guitar wahs like vintage Morely pedals or Jimi Hendrix customs but it will be functional.
Here's where to make changes.
First, look at range - freq bottom/freq top - what is your baseline "back" start point (where in the filter's range) and what's the furthest "forward" you want to go. Dial it in til it sounds right to you.
Ignore any parameters for "auto wah" - you won't be using it - that's the sweep, LFO, BPM sync, etc.
Near the bottom of the page, tweak resonance and Lo-Pass filter values - then -- most important -- the output levels [audition between 20 & 100 by 10s] and and select the modulation amount controller and maximum range amounts, in this case for the expression (wah) pedal.
You'll want the final FX balance to the wet side, tho you may want to keep some dry signal because your speakers may go too soft on up-position sounds due to frequency roll-off.
