yellow screen of death fixed in a week
What's up people. If your esx or emx has yellow screen aka blown chip fuse rogue music in new york turnaround time. 1 week for repair. Korg is in long island close to rogue so parts are easy to get I shipped from north carolina to new york and its back 97 bucks with shipping don't have time to argue korg fix for free or not last time I tried going thru korg service centers they said 2 months wait and the center is in my state? These guys do good work and have great deals on used gear I bought from them when I lived in ny and still buy from them now hope this helps someone I know how it feels to be without your red or blue box that won't work even though you treated it like your baby. Rogue Music...
I had the yellow screen of death happen to me before. I called rogue music, and they would not repair my emx, they said that they would have to get a new circuit board for it, and that it would be cheaper just to buy another one. I ended up fixing this myself. If you want me to fix your yellow screen of death, I will gladly do it for $75, so long as you pay to ship it here and ship it back. my email address is gambrel@gmail.com. If I am unable to repair the yellow screen of death, which I'm pretty sure won't happen then of course there will be no charge. I have fixed this problem on both an emx and an esx both. The turn around time will be short, and 99% of the time I will ship it back to you as soon as I recieve payment for the repair. you don't have to pay me before I fix it, but once I fix I will need to be payed before I can ship it back to you. If you write a check I will have to wait for it to clear. I am pretty sure I can take payment on Paypal. once again my email is gambrel@gmail.com
You should probably inform people if you are just bypassing the fuse with a wire or if you are putting a resistor or replacement fuse in place to keep some protection there.
I personally just bypassed the bad chipfuse, but I wouldn't pay someone else for that quality of work (just a bypass wire) because your electribe could eventually fail completely if something bad were to occur powerwise while it was on.

Is there some information in the forum(s) regarding the location of the fuse?
I ask because mine is dead, I suspect because the previous owner was using a replacement power supply that may have been higher than 9 volts.
I checked for fuses, but didn't see anything marked as such on the board.
Thanks in advance,
Dan
