2loose - No Small Lover - June 11
This is a slamming piece that I came up with. I had trouble putting any snare fills here so I ended up using a kick with some high end which you hear sometimes in metal tunes. I do want some good high energy tunes on my cd, so any input here is very welcome.

Nice one; I particularly like how it develops as of 2:20. There is a very nice digital arpeggio line somewhere towards the end which fits nicely with other sounds that are quite brutal. At 1:24 you have a nice lead motif coming in, at approx 1:50 two different motifs are 'talking' to each other which is interesting. Then, as I said, after 2:20 things speed up and culminate. This tune is not only powerful and energetic but also melodically rich and thought out. There are lots of little details that spice it up and keep me focused. Very nice.

Most bizarre, your impression. I thought for sure you would say it was 'unfocused' and yet you said the opposite. It seems unfocused to me, i think because there isn't any verse chorus thing going on, simply slammin loops and motifs just jumping in and out. Yet what I like the most is the high energy that is somewhat relentless. Yes, I do like taking the brutal sounds and the electro sounds layered. That's maybe becoming my style, along with really fat drums and bass.

Thanks, Pumpkin. It's been challenging to do really fast electronic songs that carry a punch, so I'm glad people are feeling good about this.

Hi George
Love the sounds here and it has much to offer.... The arp. mentioned earlier is good, and also the melodic content ... It flows VERY well and seem to be more "melody filled" than some others you have done . I realize it is the energy first you were looking at.... ..but you have got melodies ...even if very short... !!
The BEST PART ... melodic content overlaps and re-finds its feet at times .. and supports the WHOLE THING well.., at the high energy level... I Like It!!! I did hear a few places that I might look for a short chord or a couple of tuned notes but thats just my old harmony seeking self hearing it ? ? !
It ended to abrupt for me ... I would have thought maybe a hard saw as used throughout .., on the main tonic chord .... fading ... would fit better (No retard ..., just to the chord and fade away...
)
ANYWAY you LOOK!!! .., Great as USUAL! .., and I really enjoyed this ! You use your resources like a strip miner .., Get 'em all thats in there ..!!!!!!!!
Best Regards John

John: thank you for your careful listening. You heard more in this song than I even knew was there. Much of my tunes are accidental as I just keep ad libbing and experimenting and then keep whatever seems to fit together the best. My next tune has quite a bit of melody as I decided to showcase some lead parts more than I usually do. We'll see how that shakes out.

By the way, this song might end up in a racing video game. It was picked up by a MIP (music industry professional) at musicxray.com to pitch for a game (late sept 2012) so wish me luck.
