M50 and Acid Music studio 8.0 probs

Post by John555 »

Hello can someone help me with this. I've got it up and running and one MIDI track inserted. MIDI IN is 'Auto' MIDI out is 'Device 1 M50 Sound' and i can hear and record stuff, but the M50's sounds all seem to sound metallic and tinny. When i turn Local Control off it solves it but the my damper pedal stops working then....any thoughts. The editor doesnt work either as a soft synth it just crashes everything when loaded up and takes me back to my desktop.....:-) I'm running Vista 32bit on a capable system. I've searched all forums on here and cant find an answer.

MIDI Loop

Post by Hanon_CTS »

Hello John555,
The sound issue is due to a MIDI loop occurring.
Out to in, in back to out... For every one note that you play two are sounding, this creates a type of phasing effect that makes your sounds sound weird.

The M50 software doesn't include any type of softsynth. The RTAS, VSTi plugin only allows your recording software to play the actual M50 hardware as if it were a softsynth.

I hope this helps.

Cheers, Hanon
I used to play Korg instruments, then I took an arrow to the knee.
