Hi Guy's , I think we are here to help each other not to write a negative things about a project . Pete please stop writing a negative comments what is going to happen to the keyboard, we are aware of that. Korg doesn't help, so we have to do what we have to do. I do appreciated if someone just give us a detail step by step procedure how to write user sound in factory banks.

But what a long-winded way to go about it!!!!

Simply turn of Factory Style and Sound protect in the Media Preferences tab page, load up a sound you want to save into the sound editor and then when you select Write Sound, you can save it to ANY location on the PA, including any of the factory sound locations.

The only caveat, (user beware), is that if any performance, songbook entry style etc etc, uses that sound slot, then they will be affected. Be aware of that, and no problems.

NP,

Just be aware that if it is based on your own PCM samples/PCG files then these need to be present on the hard drive and have AUTOLOAD PCM set to on.

Or alternatively after you boot ensure you manually load them. The manual load would also be needed if you want to use the PCM from a thumb-drive. As far as I know, it is only those present on the hard drive that get "auto-loaded".

In my experience, having the PCM's autoload, is about 40% quicker than manual loading AFTER boot.

Of course if they (your sounds) use modified "factory" samples this is not necessary. By selecting that patch, the PA will auto select the linked samples.

Did you turn off Factory Sound Protect...under the Media button- Preferences.
You need to turn this off BEFORE trying to edit/load or save the sound.
