How to increase drum kit volume?

Post by Guzicar »

Hello everoyne, I'm having trouble increasing a particular drumkit on one of my styles. I mean, i know how to increase the track volume but it still does not sound as loud as some other drum kits i have in other styles. For eg. if I have Style 'A' and the drum track volume is turned up to 127. Then i've got Style 'B' where the drum track is also turned up to 127...Style A still sounds louder...

Is there a way i can make the other drum kit as loud ?

Hi Guzicar, the answer is yes you can. Select Style & press 'Track View' -> Keyboard Menu Button -> Screen choose 'Mixer Tuning' -> EQ Gain Tab and increase the values of your Drumkit. -> Screen Menu and write style. Hope that helps :)

Hi Guzicar...I'm guessing that you're talking about your own user styles. In particular, sets that are made from combining styles from multiple sets suffer from this problem across all tracks. If that's the case, aside from what is already suggested, you can also check into the velocity layer of your drum track, and compare it to the ones that you'd like to be your standard level. Not that velocity on its own could solve the problem, but something for you to think about when you're adding new styles to your set.

it's all in style record mode. You just have to select the desired track, and press menu If i remember correctly. You'll find the option to see velocity, events..etc somewhere in there.

I have a few favorite drum kits that I use a lot for my home made user styles! For similar dance styles (similar genre) I've made a velocity chart for each of those drum kits. Let's say if I know i'm going to use Drum kit X, I pull up the sheet for that and assign all the velocity layers according to the sheet. Once I have those in place, then I can make further adjustments...And same thing goes for Expression, and volume...Because of that all my user styles have the same loudness, and the transition going from one to the other is very smooth. I suggest that you come up with a style that you think is perfect for your needs, and then try to make the similar styles match that ...

Assyianpianist, I had a play around with what you said. I think i found what i needed in the style control option somewhere. I was able not only to increase the volume of the tracks but to increase / decrease the 'expression'.
