Problem connecting MIDI to use the Synth Editor

Post by BeatsfromDP »

I am using an M-Audio Midisport Uno USB interface and I have the "To MIDI In" plugged into the MIDI In on the MK, and the Midi Out the same. The USB light is glowing on the interface and the Midi In light is on, but the Midi Out light is dark. I've installed the drivers for XP and I still get the message that it can't connect when I try to open the editor. I went to settings and set the in and out to my interface, and still nothing. I also turned write protect off and set it to E-E, still nothing. Any ideas?

The LEDs indicate MIDI data flow. The MK will be sending a constant midi clock, explaining why that LED is lit. The MK won't be receiving any constant messages unless you connect it to a sequencer that sends midi clock data, otherwise you'll only see the LED when data is actually being sent to the MK. The problem with the MK editor may be something else wrong with software or driver configuration. It's possible that you may have too many old midi drivers. You can download MIDI-OX to help view and change the midi configuration.

Oh ok. I'm new to MIDI but that makes sense. I must've had it backwards then, MIDI out should be lit since the mk is sending MIDI info and MIDI in should be dark, right? I don't have it in front of me so I might've said that wrong initially. I will try this MIDI-ox, thank you tremendously for your fast help!
