System error 0xFFFFFFF0 code 0x00000004

Post by azoapes »

I get that error code now and then, the Triton proX I have has some system error. Unfortunately, I cannot find anyone in my country at all that is capable of fixing these machines, so I turn to you.

What does the error codes stand for?

System error 0xFFFFFFF0
code 0x00000004

I'll open it up and fix it myself if I just know where to look.

:? I've seen similar errors when trying to unplug scsi during loading or saving (ok, I never "tried" to do this but it happened...) so maybe if you have any scsi device attatched to the triton just unplug it. There is also a reset function that you can use holding down some keys during the boot... but you have to read in the manual cos I can't remember the right keys right now.

No sorry I don't use any SCSI devices. I just installed the newest OS, but no change.

When this error shows up, the sound I'm currently playing keeps on playing, like I still held the keys down, but the OS crashes and doesn't respond. When I turn the power off and then on again, it goes back to normal. Until the next crash. It crashes often sometimes and almost never sometimes...

I think it's a hardware failure. Maybe a loose connector somewhere. I have opened it up, but didn't see anything strange... if I only knew where to look! Love the machine.

Update:

I get different symptoms sometimes, these are the symptoms I have seen so far:
  • System error 0xFFFFFFF0 with code 0x00000004
    ... code 0x00000009
    ... code 0x00000006
    Totally blue display
    Totally white/gray display
Blue display with a white line across it, horizontally
And last but worst; the display and the whole machine totally dies
When the machine crashes and one thing of the above happens, the sound I'm playing always locks up and keep playing until I power it off...

One last thing. The other day when the machine crashed, something weird happened. It sounded like the electricity went through the audio output to my speakers, they shrieked in full volume... sounded like a dying cat in 100 dB , maybe it was an overload or something, I don't know... when I powered it off and on again the stuttering 100 dB sound was gone.

Please help me!

I have that problem sometimes....

I have some similar problem sometimes with MIDI... I forget what it is, exactly... but, like.. if I start playing a song on my computer sequencer, then realize I hadn't put the Triton in sequencer mode... then put it in sequencer mode, it does some funky stuff.

I think I had to shut down my sequencer, reboot the triton, put it in sequencer mode, then load back up the sequencer.

Hope that helps.
