Well, after years of being intimidated but intrigued by electronic music, I finally bought a drum machine (alesis sr-16) to act as a drummer (ala Big Black or Godflesh) for a band I'm doing with a friend of mine. It's been working out well, but I think I'm ready to take the next step and replace the sr-16 with a groovebox, to add some more interesting textures and maybe some movie dialog stuff. I've looked around a good amount and the Electribe ES-1 seems good for an ultra-beginner like me who just needs simple piece of equipment for now. Plus, they are very reasonably priced on the used market.
Pros/cons anyone? Or any other suggestions for better machines that would suit my needs?
just starting to get my feet wet...
