EMX-1 and KP3, together? for better or worse?

Hey ya'll, so i just picked up the KP3. Iv been playing the Emx-1 for over a year and thought id get some more hardware.

So i connected my EMX-1 to the KP3. And the results Im getting aren't what i was expecting

You have to keep your finger on the pad if you want the emx to play, or press effect hold. but then evertime i change the effect Theres a second where nothing plays till i redo the effect hold thing again.

Im thinking of just using the KP3 for mic effects and sampling.

But i just wanted to throw this topic out there for anyone who uses EMX and KP3 together, and has some input that would make me love the combo!!!!! please!!

btw the manual for KP3 sucks, compared to EMX atleast. Hardly got any info out of it.

sounds like you have the KP3 in SEND mode, not DIRECT

read the frabjous manual. pages 8 and 9 are all you need to hook it up correctly. it even has pictures, and there aren't many words, but you do need to read them

Wow thank you very much, i found the send/direct switch on te back and that is just what i was looking for. NOW ITS TIME FOR BUSINESS!

Can you take loops directly from itunes?

No. The KP3 uses its own file type, which you can create by using the editor (on a computer) or by sending audio into the KP3 and sampling it.
I'd guess that it tells you this in the manual.

It can load WAV and AIFF files too, if they're named correctly and put in the root directory of the SD card

Alright im just gonna play around with it. Im guessing you can import songs into the KP3 editor on the computer then create percise samples there.

Im waiting to get my SD card, ill update you characters when i get it down. thanks for the help!

this is exactly what i'm wanting (as a STARTING point! =P lol ) a KP3 and an EMX would probably end up using loops and samples i've made on my pc using reason and fruityloops. I'm wanting to explore live-play more than anything.

useless little tip: use a mouse ball on your KP3 for weird effects haha and if its completely level u can leave it on the pad for holding =P
