I'm a hip hop producer and I was wondering if this can be done without a lot of hassle so I'll just tell you what I want to do and hopefully one of you experts can say yes or no
1. In sequencer mode I wanna copy from combination
2. I wanna record a combination
3. I wanna save the combination I recorded so I can put a drum pattern behind it in a different song
4. Can this be done without having to sample it in sample mode? Like making the combination I recorded into a drum track?
1. In Combi Mode select the Combi you want then hold down the Enter key and press Record on the sequencer controls, this will copy the combi to the sequencer.
2. Unsure what you mean, if you mean record using the sequencer then yes you can once you have copied it in.
3. You can save the sequence then just add a drum pattern using one of the tracks.
4. Unless I've got this all wrong you have already covered this one using the first three.
Sorry if this doesn't help but it's the best I know, maybe others will clarify it more.
Yah I tried that.."hold enter and press record" I recorded a melody...but once I bring a track in for drums, the drums won't play without the other instruments from the combi making sounds....I can't have that LOL So...Can I just save my melody I recorded as a drum track and load it into a fresh song format?

I agree. No need for sample mode here. Everything you want to do is totally within normal operations for the M3, and all these points are covered in depth in the manual, in the sections for Sequencer Mode and Combination Mode.

Change the Track parameters from off to int, and change the midi channel to the corresponding midi track. Then you can add a drum kit on an empty channel and record away. You get to the track parameters by pressing page select, not sure of the number but its on the top right.

So...first go to combi mode select the combi I wanna import to the sequencer..hit enter and record? I have done that but when I go to the track parameters "Page select P3" there already set to INT not OFF..If you could be so kind to lay it down step by step bro that would be much appreciated

Some Combis use all 16 Channels so you will have to sample the combi. That sample can be made into a multisample then used in a new song in the Seq. Then you can put drums to it. It can not be saved as a drum track.

This can be done easy without sampling. If you record a combi and want to add drums go to an empty channel and do what i explained before. To save the combi as a song, Press Media and select the save tab at the bottom then use the \/ drop down menu and select save SNG. That will save it.

So in other words...
Find a track in the combination where it's muted
press page select then P3 and turn the status from that track from off to int
