New PadKontrol

Post by Hexdigit62 »

Folks,
is that the same old PadKontrol that I see now in black on Korg’s web site or is it something new and improved?
Thanks
John

AFAIK it is what it says on the tin - a black padKontrol. KORG seem to like releasing special different coloured versions of their controllers. For example, the nano series was first released in white, then later 'limited edition' black too.

Thanks..! I want to get one but seeing that it has been out since 2006 I would expect to see a new model shortly so I’m holding out.
Thanks

If I were you I would contact Korg about this, because as far as I'm aware there isn't going to be a new version of PadKontrol released in the near future. It could be possible that they added the text "The all-new padKONTROL joins Korg’s expanding line-up of..." when the new version (black model?) of the PadKontrol was released, and then never bothered editing the text on their web page. I have seen many examples of this on other web sites, where an icon appears next to an item in a list saying "New", and the icon stays there for several months or years after the item has been released.

As far as I know, the black model was released around Oct last year (in the UK), since that is the date when it first appeared on the Amazon.co.uk web site.
Current gear / DAW: Korg M50 (61 key), Korg PadKontrol, Boss Micro BR, FL Studio.
