It's possible in Triton LE and TR even without the actual sampling upgrade. I think that might be one of the reasons people get confused :)

Ah, but the sampling upgrade allows you to do sampling, It doesn't say anything about the TR and LE not being a sampler

Anyway, it actually makes sense because samples have to be loaded into RAM. if you put the RAM in then you've got somewhere to load samples. Needing the expansion to load samples wouldn't make any sense from a technical point of view. Maybe from a sales point of view.....
The sampling upgrade lets you do, well, sampling! it lets you make samples, etc. giving you the inputs and all that too. For some reason it also gives a SCSI connection.

Seriously, one of the massive downsides of the M50 is that you can't load samples on it. There is however a great selection of drum, instrument and FX samples on board already, so not to worry! If you need sampling though, you'd have to get the M3.

Yeah, but the reason I brought those up is because they are the only Korg keyboards I know that you can add samples to even though you might not be able to actually sample with them.

The reason why everything comes to this confusion and weird question is that
not many people know what actually one means by ''Sampler''. Many people
have taken the Freedom to actually understand the word Sampler the way they
want and not what it actually means. Korg TR/LE as they are...even though
they can read ready Samples they are NOT SAMPLERS!...unless the EXB Sampling
Board is added to them. A keyboard with Sampler means a keyboard tha you
can RECORD INTO and create your own Samples...not just reading ready Samples.
