KAOSSILATOR Pro pad and sound stuck

My KAOSSILATOR Pro has 2 pad lights in the the lower right corner stuck on and the sound of each patch is stuck on is well. Does anyone know how to reset or initialize the KP to release these. I tried all the Utilities and reloaded all patches without sucess. Thanks in advance.

Maybe a silly question... But have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Yes I have turned the KP off and on many times and disconnected the power as well. No change.

Do you see any dents on the pad where you dropped something on it (or dropped it on something) and screwed it up? You can't software reset hardware failures.

The Kaos Pro is new out of the box. I did put the protective film on the screen, but have not touched it with anything but my finger tips. I'm starting to think this might just be a defective unit, but that is so rare with synth products that I was hoping there was a reset proceedure.

Yes, it's probably defective. It was probably dropped hard during shipment. You should remove the film of course, just to confirm that's not causing it, but it probably isn't. The resistive layers on the pad are probably shorted to each other.

Also make sure that there's nothing stuck between the pad and the yellow bezel in the corner, that would trigger the pad.

I removed the protective film and that unlocked the pad. It must have been touching the yellow bezel in the corner ever so slightly.
